Practicing Drawing

I am trying to better the work I do but practicing some art I get inspired from. Here is what I have done (based of references of the amazing images)

First I tried a box technique with working out the shapes of the drawing. Second I tried line-of-action with working out the shapes of the drawing. Lastly, I tried going to straight line-work

I am using a new software for this work called Studio Clip Paint. This software helps me with line-work A Lot!

Looking at this work, I can say that going straight to linework does safe time, but runs the risk if it not looking right with the basics as I didn't work them out at the start, but still cool. Box planning with help me a lot when shading and helped with working out how the body is shaped/clothes fold. A great technique. Also, the line of action helps capture the action an gesture of the drawing lots and is one of my go too methods with drawing. A great technique

Now, to better my understanding with my work I will redraw the side, straight to line-work, drawing. I will do this to better my confidence with line-work, and also side faces

I did not look at the reference of my own drawing, this is from pure memory to show what I really did learn from drawing the face

I created a long and boring video of me drawing this side face
(I try to entertain others by talking but if that is annoying do feel free to skip past most of it or turn the sound off). This is the first video recording I've ever done so I am sorry it is sounds bad and I didn't do a good job of it :)

I will not let me put it onto Blogger... Even after compressing it. So, I will put it.. I don't know. I'll have to keep it and wait for a while to find a new way..... That's annoying. Oh well

I have a part of it. Step 1 done. I will have many different videos that all make up one video
I am yet to learn how to speed up the video (it would be cooler like that)
I also have the image of what I have done here :) You can see the difference between them

One is a lot rounder with larger features and the other sharper and smaller features. It surprises me as most of my work, I tend to increase the features a lot so this is an interesting fact. I must have tried to recreate the drawing too much that I didn't increase the size and decreased them. I prefer the rounded face better but that is just me
