One day animatic

I thought and created a much larger, more in depth story yesterday
I started creating it at 8am and finished just before 10pm (I took mini breaks here and there, I'm not that crazy)

Still working on a title... Right now it is Brother Doctor... I'll change it soon

This story is an emotional one. It is the story of a doctor reflecting back to when he was in school with his baby brother. The cute moments and then the devastating moment

This story is my experiment to see how much feelings I can give people, either warm fuzzies or the throb in their chest/lump in their throat. This story also has a great focus on background art and beautiful effects (lighting and wind). The animation will be hard (the 3D referenced spin) but is also simple yet effective

I am aiming to get a reaction from the audience/viewer. If I don't get one, I have not done my job

This is the longest story I have created so far, if I was to use it for my major project, I would have to manage my time wisely

I have 3 different versions of the story

While watching these, I do maybe suggest listening to a sad piano piece of music, as I will be adding music to the final animation but don't have it right now

The music on Spotify I suggest highly is Outro:Lit (Koe no Katachi / A Silent Voice) Play this music as soon as the logo is gone for the best result :D

The first video is shorter than the other two, but not capturing the true pain or sadness I was hoping to achieving this round. It is, the happy ending
I found this was missing the true impact of the sadness I could have had. It had super cute moments, but wanted to see if it could become much sadder/emotion filled. This story also tells what happened to the little brother, with the final image revealing it was chemo 'como in the animation, I can't spell at all'. This is the happy ending I wanted to push further

The second video (with some advice from my amazing sister Trinity) captures the pain, sadness and grief a lot more. It is longer than the first video. This ending is the very sad one
This one is a good one. It captured sadness very well. When I got some advice from a friend, they were so invested into the little brother, they told me to change the ending to a happy one ha ha ha. They also said that they thought the little brother dies but didn't want to believe it so challenged me on if they died. They loved the cute moments but was constantly having a go at me to both change the story, and tell them what actually happened to the little brother. As a result of their demands, I created the final video, to see if their was more emotion with the sudden plot twist

The final video is the same as the second, but suddenly plot twists into a happy ending. The pain is still there yes, but hopefully they sudden hope shown makes people go 'Awwwwww' or 'Yes! He lived!'
As I said, this was a result of the demands of a friend, and also my inner self wanting a happy ending as well. It captures everything the second video did, but has a sudden plot twist of 'hey, he's not dead, he lived!' right after the character is feeling the pain in that field. This story also tells what happened to the little brother a lot better, with the final image revealing it was chemo 'como in the animation, I can't spell at all'. I am very pleased with this one as well

If I had to pick which video I would use (if I was to use it) I am stuck in between the second and final videos. It depends, do people want the happy ending, or to feel the pain of the second

If you are reading this blog, please do comment which video you think is the best one!

The sad ending? Or the happy ending?
