BSA706, What we watched today
Today, we watched films within Pakistan and India
Within Pakistan, we looked into Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy

She created two different films with the same message. Bring rights and awareness for young girls in Pakistan and the world
The first we watched 'Let Girls Dream'

A short animation. The short tells the story of Pari, a 14-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a pilot while, only to have to give up her dreams when her father arranges her to marry a much older man, leaving her childhood behind

A nice animation, but missed the punch line for the message it was trying to share. It also had no words (it's not bad, just fine). They did a good job at showing the symbolism with what was to come for Pari with the red shoes.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy also created a documentary called 'Girl in the River - Price for Forgiveness', about honor killings in Pakistan.

A woman in Pakistan, sentenced to death for falling in love, becomes a rare survivor of the country's harsh judicial system.

It was SO INTERESTING. I like documentaries so I enjoyed watching this. It was interesting to see the different way of lives that women live, and the process of how the story went.

India
Krish, Trish and Baltiboy: Comics of India

This is a children's animation. It has both 2D and 3D. I liked the 2D much better. It recreates the traditional style of the old arts within India
